Attorney Shayna R. Sanborn

Shayna Sanborn has practiced Family Law since 2004. She has a Masters in Social Work which is invaluable as she counsels individuals during difficult times. Ms. Sanborn represents individuals in divorce, child custody, post-divorce division of property, protective orders, child/spousal support enforcement, modification cases, and litigation involving the Texas Attorney General and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Ms. Sanborn enjoys assisting her clients in other matters such as adoptions, grandparents’ rights cases, and name changes. Ms. Sanborn has further served numerous children as an Attorney Ad Litem or Amicus Attorney appointed by various courts, or as requested by other attorneys. She also served as a briefing attorney for Justice Eva Guzman at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, prior to Justice Guzman’s appointment to the Texas Supreme Court.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Sanborn worked at the Children’s Assessment Center in Houston, Texas where she worked directly with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to raise funds to create the ability for child victims to testify via close-circuit in Court and with the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas to increase funding for centers statewide serving abused children.

Ms. Sanborn prides herself in the ability to maneuver the court system with her clients and provide counsel on complex areas of the law, while maintaining integrity and focusing on the best interests of her clients, children and families.
